A great honour: meeting the London masters of sandwiches
In May 2023, I read an article in the «Financial Times» with the title: «Cult Shop: are these the best old-school sandwiches in London?» I was so excited that I decided to check it out on my next visit to London. I took the earliest flight from Zurich on Wednesday, 26.07.2023, and entered the shop at 35 Marylebone Lane in the morning. I was delighted to meet Paul Rothe and his son Stephen in person. We had a wonderful chat and I enjoyed a pastrami with Swiss cheese, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard sandwich, called «The New Yorker». From now on I'll be a regular guest, I promise! Thomas J.
