A magnet for talent and capital from all over the world
I was in Singapore 10 years ago and in Hong Kong 30 years ago and experienced at first hand what it means when a city is in the mood for change. In Dubai, not only is everything XXL, but things also move much faster. Of course, this is also due to technology. Back then, people still communicated by fax. At 63 years old, I am very grateful that I can experience how the ecosystems in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are developing. The people in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are extremely friendly and open to new things. It is a dream for us Europeans to be able to do business along the Persian Gulf and, if we can organise it, to live there too. I am so enthusiastic that I decided together with my business partner Markus Baumgartner, b-public AG, Zurich, during the 1st Fundplat «The Desert Talks» Summit 2024, which took place from Wednesday, 17.04.2024 until Friday, 19.04.2024, to hold two Summits a year in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from now on, in April and November. With this wonderful future in mind, I treated myself to a few «M&M’s» peanuts at «Dubai International Airport» before taking off for Zurich, which I could eat a kilo of every day. Thomas J.
