What a magical moment - celebrating the Swiss National Day in Dubai!
This year I celebrated the Swiss National Day on 1st August not in Zurich or in the mountains, but at the magnificent «Al Habtoor Polo Resort» in Dubai. After the anthems of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Switzerland, Michael Lane, Chairman of the Swiss Business Council United Arab Emirates, Dubai, gave the keynote address, followed by a speech from the Ambassador of Switzerland to the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Dr. Arthur Mattli, Embassy of Switzerland in the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. I had the opportunity to exchange a few words with both personalities. The President of the Swiss Confederation, HE Viola Amherd, gave her national day address to the Swiss Abroad via video recording. Around 150 Swiss and friends of Switzerland were present in the festive ballroom and the atmosphere was excellent. It was a magical moment for my wife and me! Thomas J. Caduff, CEO, Fundplat LLC
