Also on the Persian Gulf - finding the right balance between work and relaxation is crucial for great success
My recent week in Dubai and Abu Dhabi was hard work. So I was very happy that Dilbar Gamidova, accountant at «Banya Forrest» in Dubai, invited me for a tour on Thursday, 20.02.2025. The «First authentic Banya & Wellness Spa for Men & Women» is located on the super modern Bluewaters Island.
Dilbar showed me the entire centre, which is extremely classy. Now I know exactly what is meant by «Banya». The atmosphere is relaxed and the guests, mainly from Russia and the former Soviet republics, are very nice. I was able to exchange a few words with them. And I was recommended to take an ice bath, but I declined with thanks, as at 64 I have to be a bit careful with my heart. I was also in a couple of rooms that were full of fragrant steam. I was given a hat to protect my head.
But of course, I gladly accepted the invitation to a delicious lunch. There is also a big fancy restaurant, but we ate on the terrace, the weather was – as always in Dubai – wonderful. I was offered vegan salo with borodinsky bread and mustard (an alternative of the original Eastern snack, made from coconut) and homemade pelmeni – the ultimative Slavic comfort food (dumplings filled with beef and chicken, served in a broth with sour cream and freshly cracked black pepper).
On Wednesday, 09.04.2025, the 3rd Fundplat «The City Talks» Afterwork will take place in Dubai. It is already fully booked. Dilbar is also taking part, which makes me very happy. I immediately booked four slots in the «Banya Forrest» for the next day, I’m coming with my wife and two friends from Switzerland – again without an ice bath! Thomas J. Caduff, CEO, Fundplat LLC
