An enormous honour to be called «The George Clooney of Switzerland»
I love Dubai! On Tuesday, 08.04.2025, I flew to the Persian Gulf and on Saturday, 12.04.2025, back. Both times with the wonderful airline «Emirates». On Wednesday, the 3rd Fundplat «The City Talks» Afterwork took place in the legendary «Capital Club Dubai» (story follows). Being called «The George Clooney of Switzerland» by pretty ladies naturally makes me very proud. But it’s also a big commitment, so I always take plenty of Swiss chocolate with me.
Together with friends from St. Moritz and London, I visited the magnificent «Dubai Fountain» and the «Burj Khalifa», and we did a lot of shopping in the neighbouring «Dubai Mall». It’s also incredible how much is being built in Dubai – day and night – huge buildings are going up everywhere. The city is absolutely on the move and has a fantastic future.
The vibrant financial centre naturally benefits greatly from this. Almost all international addresses have offices here and/or in Abu Dhabi, which can be reached by taxi in around 90 minutes. For Swiss providers of financial services, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is becoming an absolute must – just as Singapore has been for years.
