A tremendous honour: meeting the legendary «Capital Connector of Dubai» in person

As I love classical music, I asked the hotel concierge to book a table for my wife and I for dinner at the «Belcanto Restaurant» in the «Dubai Opera» on Tuesday, 24.06.2025. I then learnt that there would be no music in the restaurant this evening, but a networking event for financial people. Great for me too, of course!

The surprise was huge when I saw Dave Chaggar from the «Capital Club Dubai», one of the world’s most prestigious business clubs, giving a speech. I’ve never met a business person in Dubai who doesn’t know Dave. He is a living legend – omnipresent at events and in the media; see example: «Dave Chaggar, the Capital Connector of Dubai who’s helping big business connect up in powerful ways».

Of course, I’ve seen him briefly a few times and said hello, as our «The City Talks» Afterworks take place in his club. But I’ve never talked as long as I did that evening: a tremendous honour for me!
