Travelling by Swiss and German railways is impressive
For a short stay in Frankfurt, I decided to take the train on Thursday, 31.10.2024, rather than the usual plane. I didn’t have good experiences with flying, there were regular delays. I had to be in Frankfurt at 12.00 pm on the dot and arrived at «Frankfurter Hauptbahnhof» exactly on time (see clock, photo 2). The same on the return journey to Zurich on Friday, 01.11.2024: absolute punctuality! All the staff at the «Swiss Federal Railways SBB» and the «Deutsche Bahn DB» were very polite.
I was also pleased that the journey in 1st class cost me much less than an economy flight ticket (I have the «Swiss Half Fare Travelcard», of course). Conclusion: I will always take the train to Frankfurt from now on! Thomas J. Caduff, CEO, Fundplat LLC
