A romantic Christmas sleigh ride at Zurich main train station

What a wonderful evening on Tuesday, 10.12.2024! First, Rula Ipsaryaris from Aviva Investors Schweiz LLC, Zurich, invited me to a sumptuous dinner, after which I accompanied her to Zurich main train station, where she took the train home. We then visited the «Christkindli Markt» in the huge hall, sat on the sleigh with childlike joy, marvelled at the beautifully decorated tree, around which a small train curves, all sponsored by «Lindt» chocolate. The breathtaking crystal lighting is also magnificent. If you are in Zurich, you should go and see it all!

Over dinner, I was naturally curious what it was like at the «2024 United Nations Biodiversity Conference of the Parties (COP16)», which took place from 21.10.2024 to 01.11.2024 in Cali, Colombia. Apart from the insanely long flight, it was a complete success for her, as she gained an incredible number of exciting insights.

I asked Rula to send me a few papers on the conference and what Aviva Investors – one of the world’s leading asset managers also in the areas of «ESG», «Impact Investing» and «Sustainable Investing» – had recently published on these topics so that we could talk about how business was going for Aviva Investors in Switzerland this year and also share personal experiences from the last few months. All extremely interesting, for me especially the findings of Mirza Baig, Chief Sustainable Investing Officer, entitled «Navigating nature» from 16.10.2024.
