A cosmopolitan feeling like in Dubai or Abu Dhabi while dining above the rooftops of Zurich's casino

One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Zurich is the «George Bar & Grill». It covers a huge area on the top floor of the «Swiss Casino», which is a few minutes‘ walk from the world-famous Paradeplatz. Another attraction is the terrace with a magnificent view that runs around the entire restaurant. And of course the cool bar, which is very busy in the evenings.

I come here very often, also for lunch on Wednesday, 08.01.2025. I particularly like the so-called «Living Room» (see photo 3), which is separate from the restaurant. Here you feel like you are in a club in London. The tables are far apart and you can have very discreet discussions. The staff are young, multilingual, very friendly and excellently trained.

Everything is so modern and spacious, I always feel like I am in a luxury restaurant in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. But there is one big difference: the prices here are very moderate, a fraction of comparable offers at the Persian Gulf. I chose the celeriac cream soup and the beef wellington with mashed potatoes from the three daily specials on offer, which range from 30 to 40 Francs. It was absolutely delicious!
