A Private Markets event in Zurich of particularly high quality
Investing in Private Markets is all the rage, so I am constantly receiving invitations to events. I very rarely take part. But when Rula Ipsaryaris and Cristina Paradiso from Aviva Investors comes calling, that’s a different matter. With 48.9 bn Euro AUM (as of 31.12.2024) the company is a large European manager of private assets.
So on Tuesday, 17.06.2025, I went to the «Storchen» for the lunch presentation «Meet the PM» – Navigating Climate Transition in Private Markets». Luke Layfield, Head of Portfolio Management – Private Markets, gave an excellent talk on the topic «Amongst geo-political turmoil, the ESG backlash and «drill baby drill», European asset owners are quietly pressing on with financing the climate transition. But with the low-hanging fruit of green assets and fossil-fuel exclusions largely picked, where should today’s intelligent asset owner turn?»
